To use Smart Update Manager from the Service Pack for ProLiant:
Remote Online, if the component is supported by SUM but is not yet part of an SPP: - Download the appropriate Service Pack for ProLiant
- Add the component to the Service Pack for ProLiant
- Mount the Service Pack for ProLiant on a remote server running Windows or Linux that has a network connection to the ESXi host to be updated
- Run Smart Update Manager via launch_sum.bat for Windows or launch_sum.sh for Linux
